Consumer activity has been extremely quiet in the Iranian market for welded pipes on account of the ongoing New Year holidays in the country. In such market conditions, Iranian pipe producers have kept their quotations at unchanged levels in the local currency, while prices in US dollar terms have increased by around $10/mt over the past month. Market participants hope demand will improve after the Iranian New Year holiday in line with the start of the construction season and will support the positions of welded pipe suppliers.

Iranian producers' current domestic prices for 6"-14" welded pipes with 2 mm wall thickness of grade B made to ASTM/API are at $720-755/mt (IRR 21,000-22,000/mt) ex-works. Prices are exclusive of five percent VAT.

Chinese welded pipes, 2"-8" grade B made to ASTM A53/API 5L, are currently being offered to the Iranian market at $670-700/mt CFR, up by a maximum of $10/mt compared to one month ago.
