Demand has remained slow in the German seamless pipe market. Some suppliers are experiencing massive problems and have left the market due to the adverse market conditions. Buying activity may slow down further due to the start of the holiday season in the region. Export and domestic prices of German seamless pipes have remained unchanged at previous levels, though in some cases quotations may be €20/mt lower than June levels in view of decreased raw material prices. During the period under review, quotations of Italian seamless pipes have decreased by a maximum of €10/mt ($13/mt), while Romanian suppliers have left their offers unchanged. At the same time, import prices of Chinese material have increased by €10/mt ($13/mt). Most market players believe the market will not see any improvements during the summer.
