Trading activity in the Bulgarian welded pipe market has remained scarce over the past two weeks. Domestic prices for Bulgarian welded pipes have stayed unchanged over the past two weeks against the background of quiet transaction activity due to seasonal factors, while export quotations have fallen by €5-10/mt ($3-8/mt) due to increasing pressure from sluggish demand and the weakening trend in the global market. Market players think the welded pipe market in Bulgaria is unlikely to show signs of any price recovery in the short term amid the ongoing downtrends in the global market.
Current offers of locally produced welded pipes and hollow sections of 2-5 mm wall thickness made from S235JR grade hot rolled coil (HRC) according to EN 10219 are being given to the Bulgarian domestic market at around BGN 950-980/mt ($552-569/mt) ex-works, exclusive of 20 percent VAT and on theoretical weight basis.
Export quotations of Bulgarian ERW pipes and hollow sections of 2-5 mm wall thickness made from S235JR grade HRC as per EN 10219 are at levels of €475-500/mt ($542-570/mt) ex-works on theoretical weight basis.
In particular, export offers of Bulgarian pipes to Germany are at levels of €475-480/mt ($541-547/mt) ex-works, while offers to Poland and Hungary are at €480-500/mt ($547-570/mt) ex-works. Export quotations of Bulgarian water and gas pipes according to EN 10255 are at €500-520/mt ($570-593/mt) ex-works.
