According to sources, the US domestic ferrochrome market is relatively steady with limited spot demand, but there has been some reported active market trading on the few incoming inquiries.
The prices for high carbon ferrochrome is presently at $3,130-3,262/mt in warehouse Pittsburgh. Compared to a mid-April price range of $3,174-$3,284/mt in warehouse Pittsburgh, the recent price reflects a decline of $44/mt from the bottom of the previous range and $22/mt from the top of the previous range.
The current market supply tightness is expected to maintain US domestic prices relatively stable through May.
