The Turkish import scrap market seems quiet in general, while Turkish mills' demand for ex-deep sea scrap in particular lacks strength. In the meantime, Turkish mills are eager to book ex-short sea scrap and some ex-Black Sea A3 scrap transactions to Turkish mills have been reported. Ex-Russia A3 scrap offers to Turkish mills are standing at $375-380/mt CFR, while transactions have been concluded at about $373-377/mt CFR. In the meantime, the price level in ex-Romania A3 scrap transactions to Turkey have regressed below $370/mt CFR, decreasing to $364-366/mt CFR.

On the other hand, while Turkish mills' demand for ex-US scrap is currently low, scrap suppliers are abstaining from issuing offers, preferring to stand aside. Turkish mills state that the market price level for ex-US HMS I/II 80:20 should not exceed the range of $385-390/mt CFR, though higher prices are also heard. For ex-Europea scrap, in the latest transaction heard last week the price of HMS I/II 70:30 was at $360/mt CFR Turkey. Moving to this week, no new price level has been heard so far.
