Surprising price increase in new ex-US scrap deal

According to market sources, a Turkish steel producer has concluded an ex-US deal via a supplier for 27,000 mt of HMS I/II 80:20 scrap at $287/mt CFR, 5,000 mt of shredded scrap at $292/mt CFR and 8,000 mt of bonus grade scrap at $297/mt CFR, indicating a surprisingly strong increase of $6/mt compared to prices in the most recent deal for US scrap concluded to Turkey via the same supplier early this week.
