After rising to $303/mt CFR in the middle of March, deep sea HMS I/II 80:20 scrap prices started to indicate sharp declines and within two weeks they had decreased to $261/mt CFR. However, as of last week HMS I/II 80:20 scrap prices have once again started to move up.

In deep sea deals concluded in Turkey last week, HMS I/II 80:20 scrap prices were at $270/mt CFR, while in an ex-US deal made at the beginning of this week the price of HMS I/II 80:20 scrap was at $275.5/mt CFR. Turkish steel producers' demand for scrap has improved slightly compared to last week, while it is observed that Turkish mills' price ideas for HMS I/II 80:20 scrap are now at around $275/mt CFR. On the other hand, SteelOrbis has been informed that HMS I/II 80:20 scrap offers from suppliers in the US and the Baltic region to Turkey are above $280/mt CFR.
