Recent ex-Brazil pig iron deal to US lifts offer prices

On March 8, SteelOrbis reported basic steelmaking pig iron prices in the US import market at $315-325/mt FOB Southern Brazil port and $335-345/mt FOB Northern Brazil port.

According to sources close to SteelOrbis, an ex-Brazil basic steelmaking pig iron deal to the US was recently completed at $360/mt FOB Northern Brazil port.

Offer prices are presently being heard at $345-360/mt Southern Brazil port and $360-375/mt FOB Northern Brazil port. The new prices reflect an increase of $30/mt on the bottom of the range and $35/mt at the top of the range for FOB Southern Brazil port.  The increase for the Northern Brazil port prices are $25/mt at the bottom of the range and $30/mt at the top of the range.
