Prices in Turkish ship scrap market move up

Demand for ship scrap In Turkey's Aliaga region - the only region in the country where ship scrapping is allowed - has revived further during the past week and is now at medium levels. Demand is expected to move sideways in the coming period. Meanwhile, the ship scrap purchase quotations of local steel producers have increased from last week's price level of $215/mt to $218-220/mt ex-yard against the backdrop of the rises seen in import scrap prices over the past week.
