Price of pig iron increases in Brazil

Brazilian independent producers of pig iron exported steelmaking grade pig iron in April at $194/mt FOB, against $180/mt FOB in March, according to the country’s ministry of development, industry and foreign trade, MDIC.

The foundry grade product was exported in a price range of $231/mt to $247/mt FOB.

The most recent deals for the export of the steelmaking grade product were closed in a range of $205/mt to $210/mt, FOB conditions, an industry source told SteelOrbis.
