With slightly increased prices of iron ore in the Chinese spot market, coupled with stable ocean freight rates, the price of iron ore in Brazil increased by around $1/mt for the second consecutive week.

Sinter feed fines of 65 percent iron contents are now traded for export from Brazil at $50/mt, lumps at $53/mt and blast furnace grade pellets at $95/mt, FOB conditions.

In the Brazilian domestic market, the prices are now $44/mt for sinter feed fines, $47/mt for lumps and $89/mt for blast furnace grade pellets, ex-works, no taxes included.

According to analysts, the iron ore option market in the Dalian Commodities Exchange now points to a possible uptrend in international iron ore prices, despite the volatility currently seen in futures quotations.
