Local Italian scrap prices have increased further by €10-20/mt during the past week, with the influence of the rises seen in global raw material prices and in import scrap prices for Turkey. Italian mills are expected to make scrap purchases ahead of the December holidays which will cause production stoppages. Accordingly, scrap prices in Italy are foreseen to rise further in the coming period.
