Local Italian scrap market moves on downward trend

Domestic scrap prices in Italy have decreased by €15-20/mt week on week, while market sources state that they may decline further in the coming period. Italian steel mills are still asking local scrap suppliers to reduce their prices due to the declines observed in import scrap prices in Turkey and also since scrap supplies in the Italian market have increased amid lower domestic steel production, caused by reduced sales in the finished steel market.
