According to the latest figures provided by the German steel scrap recycler association (BDSV), in the first 20 days of June this year domestic steel scrap prices in Germany decreased by €57/mt ($64/mt) on average compared to the corresponding period of the previous month, after the €50/mt ($57/mt) increase recorded in May.
On year-on-year basis, in May this year German domestic scrap prices are down €51/mt ($58/mt) on average.
Prices are average prices for domestic transactions across Germany in the first 20 days of the given month. The prices are provided by Bundesvereinigung Deutscher Stahlrecycling-und Entsorgungsunternehmen e.V. (BDSV).
