According to the latest figures provided by the German steel scrap recycler association (BDSV), in the first 20 days of July domestic steel scrap prices in Germany were almost stable compared to the same period in the month of June.
In February and March, scrap quotations had recorded an average month-on-month decrease of €15-16/mt ($20-22/mt), while in April prices had increased by €12-19/mt ($16-26/mt) compared to the previous month. In May, local scrap prices had decreased on average by €1.92/mt ($2.6/mt) month on month, while in June scrap prices had decreased by €2-4/mt ($3-9/mt) month on month.
In the first 20 days of July this year, German domestic scrap prices indicated an increase of €10/mt ($13.5/mt)on year-on-year basis.
