Latest situation in local Italian scrap market

As reported late last week, domestic scrap prices in Italy are increasing on the back of the rise of international raw material and finished steel prices. Moreover, Italian steelmakers have received plenty of orders for the coming few months and so their demand for scrap is strong. All local steel producers in Italy have increased their scrap purchase prices compared to early August. Concerning the future, currently no market player foresees any price decreases: most of them believe instead that further price increases may be achieved.
