With higher prices in the Chinese spot market and a small increase in average ocean freight rates, the price of Brazilian iron ore has increased by an average of $3/mt in one week.

Sinter feed fines of 65 percent iron contents are now traded for export from Brazil at $64/mt, lumps at $79/mt and blast furnace grade pellets at $108/mt, FOB conditions.

In the Brazilian domestic market, the prices are now $58/mt for sinter feed fines, $72/mt for lumps and $102/mt for blast furnace grade pellets, ex-works, no taxes included.

Preliminary numbers from the Brazilian customs authorities point to a small reduction in the volume of iron ore and pellets exported in July, from the 33.7 million mt exported in June.
