Integrated steel producers are paying $39/mt for sinter feed fines of 65 percent iron contents, FOB conditions, no taxes included, a company source told SteelOrbis.

The price compares to an average of $37/mt last week, reflecting the alterations in the Chinese spot market.

“With the recent ups and downs in China, the shipment date is playing a role in establishing the price,” he said, adding that the price of lumps remains at $43/mt, while the price of pellets remains at $69/mt, both FOB conditions, the same as last week.

According to an exporter, sinter feed fines of 65 percent iron contents are exported FOB conditions from Brazil at $55/mt, the same as last week, reflecting an increase of the spot price in China, compensated by an increase in the Brazil-China logistics costs.
