According to market sources, ex-US offers to Taiwan for containerized HMS I/II 80:20 scrap are currently at $243-248/mt CFR CY, while Taiwanese buyers' firm bids are at $237/mt CFR CY.

Market sources state that scrap collection activities in Taiwan have become difficult due to the significant decline seen in domestic scrap prices. This may cause electric arc furnaces in Taiwan to accelerate their import scrap purchases and may also push import scrap prices up, market sources have stated.
