Over the past two weeks, demand for ex-CIS pig iron in the global markets has been weak due to the holiday season in the European market and since Turkish buyers have preferred to stand back and monitor the global market before the Feast of Sacrifice holiday (Aug. 31- Sept. 4). However, pig iron offers from the CIS region to the export markets have increased by $25/mt on average over the past two weeks to $370-380/mt FOB due to the ongoing upward trend of prices of finished steel and raw materials in the global market in the given period.
