In the Italian market, the latest import offers for basic pig iron from Russia and Ukraine are at $425-430/mt CFR.

Italian foundries are cautious as regards the prices at which they buy pig iron. Currently, suppliers do not have the intention to lower pig iron prices, but rather seek to increase them. Nevertheless, the Italian market is unwilling to absorb any price increases, especially considering the declines in iron ore prices. For the moment, therefore, pig iron offers from the CIS for the Italian market remain stable.
