SteelOrbis has been informed by market sources that local producers' price levels in the Turkish domestic market for 6-7 mm mesh quality wire rod are as follows:

Region

Price ($/mt)

Marmara

470-490

Thrace

470-485

Izmir

460-480

Iskenderun

460-465

-The above prices, which are on actual weight basis, do not include VAT and are on ex-works basis. -The offers may differ depending on buyers and order sizes.

According to market sources, wire rod prices in the local Turkish market have increased by $10-15/mt week on week to $460-490/mt ex-works, influenced by the strengthening of the US dollar against the Turkish lira. In addition, the firmness of scrap prices and Turkish producers' decent wire rod export sales have also provided significant support for the increase in domestic wire rod prices. Meanwhile, the plans of Turkish producers to carry out overhauls as of June this year have raised expectations for tighter wire rod supply in the Turkish market in the coming period, thereby also providing support for the current increase in prices.
