In the local Italian market drawing-quality wire rod prices are now at €370-380/mt ($414-426/mt) delivered to customer, compared to €380/mt recorded in the first week of September. Even though wire rod demand in the local Italian market is still modest, prices have remained almost stable during the month of September amid the absence of import offers.

Meanwhile, the export market for Italian wire rod has remained at a standstill since imports have been stopped in Algeria since the end of May this year.
