The export offer levels of SAE 1006 drawing quality wire rod and SAE 1008 mesh quality wire rod in Turkey are being quoted at $960-980/mt FOB for June shipments.
The Turkish wire rod market has not been active in recent times. However, it is heard that export deals for SAE 1006 and 1008 quality wire rods were concluded from Turkey to the US last week at the average price level of $970/mt FOB. The fact that the CIS producers have increased their prices this week may provide support for the Turkish producers.
On the other hand, the Turkish producers may come under pressure given that Chinese origin wire rods are being offered to the export markets at the price level of $850/mt FOB.
