Brazilian exports of wire rod have declined from 52,100 mt in August to 19,200 mt in September, according to the local ministry of development, industry and foreign trade, MDIC.
On average, the export price increased by 3.4 percent to $489/mt, pointing to the mesh grade exported at $437/mt, while the drawing grade was exported at $505/mt, both FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in July.
The most recent export deals were reportedly closed at $524/mt for the mesh grade and $540/mt for the drawing grade, also FOB conditions.
Exports by ArcelorMittal declined from 35,900 mt in August to 18,100 mt in September, while exports by Gerdau declined in the period from 16,200 mt to 1,000 mt.
The destinations of the Brazilian wire rod in September were the US (11,800 mt), Latin America (4,900 mt), Asia (2,000 mt) and Canada (500 mt).
