According to market sources, over the past week domestic producers’ wire rod prices in the local Turkish market have increased by TRY 15-40/mt, while prices on US dollar basis have risen by $2-7/mt over the same period due to fluctuations of the exchange rate. Market players state that Turkish producers have continued to revise their prices upwards in line with the uptrends of import scrap offers and domestic billet prices and due to higher demand resulting from the acceleration of infrastructure and construction projects in the country.
