According to market sources, Turkish steel producers’ merchant bar export prices have remained stable week on week in the range at $395-425/mt FOB, due to the sluggish demand for Turkish material in the export markets, despite the uptrend of domestic billet prices in Turkey, which are currently at $315-325/mt ex-works. Nevertheless, Turkish exporters have concluded sales of small merchant bar tonnages to North Africa and the Caribbean, while Saudi buyers’ inquiries for ex-Turkey merchant bar with thinner dimensions have increased.
