Having started the current week with a sideways movement, domestic rebar prices in Turkey's Izmir and Iskenderun regions have respectively increased by TRY 40/mt and TRY 10/mt compared to the price levels recorded on May 22, while prices in Istanbul and Karabuk have remained stable in the same period.
Market sources state that buyers have accelerated their construction activities ahead of Ramadan (starts on May 27), but are still experiencing problems due to tight supply. Meanwhile, Turkish rebar suppliers still maintain their policy of focusing on their domestic market with the purpose of meeting buyers' current needs.
