Turkish rebar export prices up sharply

SteelOrbis is informed that Turkish mills are offering rebars for export at $540-550/mt FOB on actual weight basis for March shipments to destinations other than the US and Gulf markets. Rebar prices have increased rapidly in the space of a single week. Southern Europe has not yet managed to catch up with this increase. On the other hand, after rebar bookings were concluded to the Gulf last week at $540-547/mt CFR on theoretical weight basis, new offers for the Gulf are at $550-560/mt CFR on theoretical weight basis. However, no bookings have yet been concluded at these levels.
