Turkish rebar export prices

SteelOrbis is informed that Turkish mills are offering rebars for export at $610-630/mt FOB on actual weight basis for May shipments to destinations other than the US and Gulf markets. Rebar export offers are continuing to increase. Offers from southern Turkey to the Israeli market are at $610/mt FOB. In addition, offers to southern Europe are at $620/mt FOB and above. Last week, sales deals were heard to have been concluded to the Iberian Peninsula at $615/mt FOB. Baltic and Eastern European countries have focused on Russia since it has started to purchase. Therefore, Turkey is seeing intense demand from northern European countries. Furthermore, Egypt's decision to impose tax on exports may create an extra advantage for Turkish mills in Eastern Europe and Russia.
