Turkish rebar export prices

SteelOrbis is informed that Turkish mills are offering rebars for export at $540-550/mt FOB on actual weight basis for late March/early April shipments to destinations other than the US and Gulf markets. Rebar prices have remained unchanged compared to last week. Meanwhile, exports are relatively slow compared to previous weeks. Southern Europe has not increased enough to accept Turkish offers. Offers for the Gulf are at $555-560/mt CFR on theoretical weight basis. Buyers in this market also prefer to wait in order to see what the Turkish mills will do in other markets. The Turkish mills believe that prices will increase further with the start of purchases by the US and also with the revival in the Turkish construction industry.
