Following a quiet month of August, the global rebar markets have continued their sluggish trend in the first week of September. Meanwhile, Turkish rebar offers, which were standing at the level of $615-625/mt FOB last week, have softened further this week to $605-615/mt FOB on actual weight basis amid more aggressive Chinese export offers and their impact on regions such as the Middle East and North Africa. However, no high volume transactions have been concluded yet, while buyers prefer to postpone their purchases as they cannot forecast how long this downward trend will last.
