Turkish producer exports 30,000 mt of rebar to northern Iraq

According to market sources, since last week an Iskenderun-based Turkish steel producer has sold about 30,000 mt of rebar in total to northern Iraq at the price level of $600-610/mt ex-works.
 
Improving rebar demand in Iraq has strengthened expectations for an upward trend in the Turkish domestic rebar market, particularly in the Iskenderun region. Iraq was the most important rebar export destination of Turkey in the first nine months of 2012, but has been quiet for a while now amid domestic political turbulence.
