Lately, Turkish mesh quality wire rod producers have been mostly focusing on their domestic market, since demand for wire rod in the local Turkish market is livelier than it is in the export markets, while they are also unwilling to decrease their export prices due to production costs. Thus, Turkish wire rod export offers have remained stable week on week at $400-420/mt FOB. However, according to market sources, these price levels are considered to be on the high side, with foreign buyers unwilling to conclude new purchases in this range, resulting in weak demand.
