Turkish merchant bar exporters still face low demand

With the influence of the fluctuating trend seen in global scrap prices, buyers in Turkish merchant bar exporters' target markets have mostly maintained a wait-and-see stance and are not eager to restock. Due to the weakness of demand, Turkish steel mills have reduced their merchant bar export prices by $10/mt compared to price levels recorded on March 23.

Turkish merchant bar export prices are currently at the following levels:

Product

Price ($/mt)

Angle

480-490

IPN-UPN

490-500

Flat bar

510-520

IPE

480-490

All prices are on FOB basis and for April shipment.
