Turkish merchant bar prices to the export markets have increased by $20/mt over the past two weeks amid the current upward movement of import scrap quotations which had briefly trended sideways at the beginning of March.

On the other hand, market sources state that Turkish merchant bar export prices have failed to gain acceptance from overseas buyers and so demand for Turkish merchant bar in the export markets is currently at low levels.

Turkish merchant bar export prices are currently at the following levels:

Price ($/mt)

Angle

490-500

IPN-UPN

500-510

Flat bar

520-530

IPE

All prices are on FOB basis and for March shipment.
