According to market sources, demand for Turkish merchant bar in the export markets is at medium levels, while Turkish producers' merchant bar prices are stable as compared to last week. Turkish steel producers are unwilling to reduce their merchant bar export offers due to their high costs amid the strong trends of Turkish domestic and ex-CIS billet prices. Meanwhile, Turkish producers' merchant bar sales to Morocco, one of their target markets, are at decent levels, while their sales to other markets are at unsatisfactory levels, since Chinese merchant bar offers, which are almost $100/mt lower than offers from Turkey, are attracting more interest in the other export markets.

Export offers from Turkish merchant bar producers are at the following levels:

480-490
