Turkish domestic billet price level

Wednesday, 17 January 2007 17:58:53 (GMT+3)   |
The domestic price level of Turkish billets is currently in a price range of $500-510/mt ex-works. Producers have raised their prices significantly due to the lack of billet supply in the domestic market. Rolling mills are indicating that the current rebar prices are not high enough for them to accept the latest billet prices. Iskenderun Demir Celik (Isdemir) has closed its sales, with its production now booked full almost to the end of March. The rolling mills expect Isdemir to resume its sales at around $490/mt.
