Turkish billet prices maintain strength

Despite the softening seen in ex-CIS steel billet offers and the pressure coming from ex-Europe steel billet prices, Turkish billet prices have not indicated any softening lately.

Steel billet prices in the Turkish domestic market are standing at $560-575/mt ex-works, while steel billet prices in the Iskenderun region, from where exports to neighboring countries are made, are above $570-/mt ex-works. While Turkish steel billet export offers are standing at $560-570/mt FOB, steel billet offers to the Iranian market are at $580-590/mt ex-works.

Rebar exports to Iraq and steel billet exports to Iran are helping prices to maintain their strength, particularly in Iskenderun, where prices remain a bit higher as compared to the average prices in the Turkish market.
