According to market sources, demand in the local Turkish rebar spot market has been low since the beginning of the current week, while rebar prices in the market have declined by $10-30/mt in the same period, except local prices in the Izmir region. Market players state that the Turkish rebar spot market is experiencing tightness in availability due to ongoing production cuts at some Turkish mills. Meanwhile, the US dollar is still gaining strength against the Turkish lira, causing tighter liquidity for buyers and dealers in the market.
