According to market sources, tight availability is still a serious issue for some product dimensions in the Turkish rebar market. It is heard that Turkish steelmaker Kardemir will not be able to supply rebar to the domestic market until July 23 due to a malfunction at its rolling mill, while market sources state that another local mill Icdas is offering to the local market at TRY 10/mt below its list prices. Its list prices for 12-32 mm rebar are at TRY 1,225/mt ($575/mt) for the Marmara region and at TRY 1,212/mt ($569/mt) for Biga and Canakkale, both ex-works and excluding VAT.
Turkish traders have revised their rebar offers upwards due to ongoing tightness of availability, while transaction activity in the market is on the weak side.
