Supply tightens further in Turkish rebar spot market

According to market sources, demand in the local Turkish rebar spot market is at decent levels, while prices have increased by $10-40/mt over the past week, depending on the region of the country. Amid the increasing tightness of supply in the Turkish rebar spot market, it is heard that a steel producer in the Marmara region is not currently accepting orders, for it is already experiencing difficulties in producing rebar for previous bookings. In general, Turkish rebar producers prefer to accept just limited orders, as they expect to see further price increases amid higher import scrap prices and the increasing tightness of supply.
