SteelOrbis has been informed by market players that billet prices in the Turkish domestic market are currently ranging at $520-530/mt ex-works, indicating no changes since last week. Meanwhile, CIS billet offers for Turkey can be found at $508-510/mt CFR, though Turkish buyers' asking prices are standing at $500/mt CFR or below. In the meantime, as some steelmakers in Turkey's Iskenderun region have started overhaul works, buyers in the region have postponed their purchases, while despite low demand prices have not indicated any decreases due to the short supply.

On the other hand, Turkish billet export offers standing at $520-525/mt FOB, while demand for Turkish billet on the export side is sluggish. In addition, CIS billet export offers have declined to $485/mt FOB this week, making it impossible for Turkish suppliers to compete with CIS billet export offers.
