Despite adverse market conditions, spot rebar prices in Turkish domestic market have managed to maintain a stable trend with the support of the appreciation of the US dollar against the Turkish lira and low availability issues for certain sizes. In the coming period, traders' rebar prices will likely be shaped in line with changes in the dollar-lira exchange rate.
In the meantime, negotiations have started to be observed in the Turkish domestic market on the back of the increased number of offers from Turkish mills, which have refocused on their local market amid sluggish activities in the export markets. Accordingly, Kardemir has opened its sales for rebar at the level of TRY 1,098/mt ($597/mt) ex-works, excluding VAT, while Icdas has continued to sell rebar at TRY 1,123/mt ($610/mt) e-works, excluding VAT.
