SteelOrbis has been informed by market sources that prices for 6 mm steel mesh in the Turkish domestic market have increased by TRY 0.04/kg ($19/mt) as compared to three weeks ago and are now standing at TRY 1.33-1.35/kg ($655-665/mt) ex-mill, exclusive of VAT.

Market players state that demand for Turkish steel mesh is at very good levels, while the gradual strengthening of the US dollar is also supporting the prices increases. Furthermore, demand has gotten even stronger amid ongoing activity on construction projects on the back of good weather conditions and buyers’ mass purchases before the winter season. Demand in the Turkish domestic steel mesh market is expected to remain strong until the end of November.

As for the export side, Turkish steel mesh offers to North Africa, Georgia and Turkmenistan are at $700/mt FOB, while demand for Turkish steel mesh exports is weaker than demand in the domestic market.
