Following the declines recorded in import scrap and billet prices in Turkey, rebar buyers in the local Turkish market have preferred to maintain a wait-and-see stance as regards new rebar deals with the expectation of a further fall in local rebar quotations. Despite the depreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar, domestic rebar prices in the local Turkish rebar market have moved down by TRY 10-20/mt since September 21 due to the weakness of demand.
