According to market sources, prices in the Turkish billet market have started to range at $390-395/mt ex-works, after local producer Kardemir closed its billet sales last week having received orders for about 95,000 mt in total at $380-385/mt + VAT, ex-works. It is reported that, after Kardemir closed its billet sales, demand and inquiries have decreased in the Turkish billet market, with the previous liveliness in transaction activities disappearing.

Meanwhile, ex-CIS billet offers in the Turkish market are at $350-365/mt FOB, while freight costs may decrease to $10/mt in high tonnage orders. On the other hand, currently Chinese billet offers are at $350-355/mt FOB, but have not attracted much interest in the Turkish market.
