Slack demand in Turkish rebar market

According to market sources, demand in the local Turkish rebar market has weakened significantly since the US dollar has started to lose strength against the Turkish lira. Market players are waiting to hear what announcement will be made by the Turkish Central Bank on Wednesday, May 20. Since Friday, May 15, traders' rebar prices have increased by $10/mt in İzmir and Karabük region due to short supply, while prices have decreased by $10/mt in other regions of the country due to slack demand.
