On May 21, Chinese steelmaker Shagang Group (Shagang) has issued its rebar and wire rod sales prices for shipment in last 10 days of May. The details are as follows (all comparisons being with prices in the middle 10 days of May):
1. Rebar
The sales prices of rebar have declined by RMB 50/mt ($8/mt). The price of 16-25 mm diameter HRB 335 rebar is currently standing at RMB 3,590/mt ($529/mt). As 10 mm, 12 mm, 28-32 mm, 36mm and 40 mm specifications, prices will cost an additional RMB 80/mt ($12.8/mt), RMB 40/mt ($6.4/mt), RMB 50/mt ($8/mt) and RMB 250/mt ($40/mt) respectively, while anti-seismic rebar will cost a further RMB 30/mt ($4.8/mt) for each specification.
In addition, the price of 14-25mm diameter HRB 400 rebar is currently standing at RMB 3,710/mt ($595.5/mt), for 10 mm, 12 mm, 28-32 mm, 36mm and 40 mm specifications, it will cost the same additional prices as HRB 335. Furthermore, the price of 14-25mm diameter HRB 500 rebar will cost additional RMB 150/mt ($25/mt) based on the same diameter HRB 400.
2. Wire rod (HPB 300)
The prices of common quality wire rod (HPB 300) have decreased by RMB 30/mt ($4.8/mt). The price of 6.5 mm diameter HPB 300 now stands at RMB 3,700/mt ($594/mt).
3. Coiled bar
The prices of coiled bar have dropped by RMB 30/mt ($4.8/mt). The price of 8 mm diameter HRB 400 coiled bar is standing at RMB 3,670/mt ($589/mt). The price of 6 mm diameter HRB 400 coiled bar will cost additional RMB 200/mt ($32/mt) based on 8 mm diameter HRB 400.
All the above prices are ex-works, exclude 17 percent VAT, and are effective as of May 21, 2013.

Discount policy: For agency completing rebar sales plan for the whole May before May 31 2013, Shagang will give them discounts of RMB 50/mt ($8/mt) for HRB 400 and HRB 500 rebar orders in middle May, while of RMB 30/mt ($4.8/mt) for HRB 335 rebar orders in middle May. For agency completing coiled bar and wire rod sales plan before May 31, Shagang will give them discounts of RMB 30/mt ($4.8/mt).
