Shagang Group raises its long steel prices for mid-April

Jiangsu Province-based Chinese steelmaker Shagang Group has published its ex-mill prices for long steel products effective for mid-April (Apr. 11-20). The prices indicate increases compared to the producer's prices for early April (Apr. 1-10). The details are as follows:

1. Rebar prices have increased by RMB 50/mt ($7/mt). Thus, the price of 16-25 mm HRB 335 rebar has risen to RMB 4,800/mt ($733/mt), while the new price of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar is RMB 4,920/mt ($752/mt).

2. High speed wire rod prices have increased by RMB 50/mt ($7/mt). As a result, the price of 6.5 mm Q235 common carbon high speed wire rod is now at RMB 4,800/mt ($733/mt).


3. Prices of rebar in coil are up by RMB 70/mt ($10/mt), and so 8 mm HRB 400 is now priced at RMB 4,950/mt ($756/mt).

All the above prices are ex-mill, include 17 percent VAT and are effective from April 11.
